D'Espine, Alessandro
B.1775, d.1846, Turin
An important founder-member of the later Turin school, his very classical, finely-wrought French influenced work appeared from 1816. Joined shortly afterwards by J-F Pressenda, Turin became established as a premier centre for new Italian work based primarily on careful interpretations of Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesu models.
