Korea will be a really testing logistical exercise (customs, VAT import/export, carnets, special cases etc. flights, stop-overs, hotels, etc), as we plan to take at least twenty fine instruments and bows to show our potential buyers in Seoul. Our Korean partners have invited an enormous amount of musicians to come and try the instruments at a reception we are jointly holding, and where we hope to make many new contacts and friends. Added to this, the swanky new brochures I mentioned previously will have to be translated into Korean (later, German, French and Japanese) especially for this event – which is less than a month away – no pressure then.
Thankfully our consultant Eckhard Kropfreiter will also be going to Korea. Eckhard will be lending his expert eye at the two-day apraisal event in Seoul, and helping with any fine adjustments to the instruments we are taking with us.
