The build up to deadline day
As usual, when the deadline approaches to send our catalogue to the printers, time takes on a different quality – it evaporates. Days telescope and seem to pass in a flash, and the enormous mound of work still seems untouched (though the staff at Brompton’s would strongly disagree).
At the same time as designing our biggest sale to date (over 450 instruments and bows) with our web designers Karolo, we are also producing a new brochure aimed at shining a light on the many services we provide – one of them being that musicians are able to come and try our instruments in the Faraday auditorium, a gorgeous hall seating three hundred within The Royal Institution (where we are based), which allows instruments to be tried and tested in a concert environment.
We invited two talented musicians from the Royal Academy to come and be photographed whilst playing there. The violinist Nicole Crespo O’Donaghue and cellist Laura Hammonds, very kindly took time out from grueling exams to help us with the photo shoot and we wish them well with their results.
